Allies in Aging, a collective impact initiative, funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program and supported by Innoweave, was designed in response to the need to improve connection and reduce social isolation among older adults in communities across the lower mainland of BC.
We designed the evaluation to determine the program’s effect on seniors and the collective impact for project partners and the community. The methodology included a combination of developmental and participatory approaches to provide real-time data to inform ongoing learning and adaptation that supported project changes. We wrote impact stories and uncovered where partnerships were forming and how duplication in service delivery was being reduced. Through ongoing triangulation of data, the evaluation informed adaptive learning.
